MESHPRO Support
Privacy notice for the support chat
This notice explains which data we process when you use the support chat on this page, what we need it for and how long we keep it. The support assistant is an AI.
1. Controller
MESHPRO · Kemmer Edelstahlschlosserei GmbH
Böhringerstraße 39/1, 78315 Radolfzell, Germany
E-mail: support@meshpro.de
2. The support assistant is an AI
- The chat is answered by an AI language model, not a person. It answers questions about the MESHPRO Laser Target and helps with troubleshooting. Answers may contain errors.
- The model runs on a server operated by MESHPRO itself. Your messages are not sent to external AI providers and are not used to train AI models.
- The assistant makes no decisions with legal effect (no automated decision-making within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR). Warranty, returns or replacements are always decided by a person in the support team.
3. Which data we process
- Name and e-mail address that you enter before starting the chat.
- Your messages and the assistant's answers, with time and language. Photos you attach are stored downscaled and without metadata (e.g. location) together with the message.
- Ticket data if the assistant forwards your issue to the team: ticket number, subject and a summary (problem, steps already tried, firmware version and connection type where mentioned, urgency).
- A pseudonymised checksum (hash) of your IP address instead of the IP address itself – solely to limit abuse (number of messages per hour).
- Your consent decision on whether the support team may read the conversation (see below).
Please do not enter passwords, payment details or particularly sensitive information in the chat – they are not needed for support.
4. Purposes and legal bases
- Answering your support request about a MESHPRO product and contacting you by e-mail – Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (contract or pre-contractual request) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (our legitimate interest in fast, easily reachable support).
- Protection against abuse of the chat (message limits) – Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
- The support team reading the full conversation – only with your consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.
Name and e-mail address are required to use the chat: without them we could not reply when your issue is forwarded to the team. If you prefer not to provide them, you can reach us by e-mail at support@meshpro.de instead.
5. Forwarding to the support team (ticket) and your consent
If the assistant cannot solve your problem, or if it concerns warranty, a return or a possible defect, it creates a ticket. The support team then receives by e-mail your name, your e-mail address, the ticket number, the assistant's summary and your last message – and replies to you by e-mail. You yourself receive a short confirmation with the ticket number at the address you gave.
Full conversation only with your consent. Below the input field you can tick a box allowing the support team to read the entire conversation when a ticket is created. Without it the team only receives the summary. Consent is voluntary; you can withdraw it at any time by unticking the box – the team's access to the conversation then ends immediately. Processing carried out before the withdrawal remains lawful.
6. Recipients
- MESHPRO support team (when a ticket is created, see above).
- Hosting of this page: IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Str. 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany, as processor. The page and the chat data are stored there.
- Sending and receiving the ticket e-mails via our e-mail provider.
No data is passed on to advertising or analytics services. The page does not load content from third parties (fonts and images are hosted locally).
7. Retention
- Conversations, name and e-mail address, consent and ticket data on this page are deleted automatically 30 days after the respective message.
- The assistant remembers the history only for the current conversation. “New conversation” starts without prior knowledge.
- Anonymous counters: for our statistics we count per day how many conversations, questions, answers and tickets there were (plus page language and time of day of the question). These figures contain no content, names, e-mail or IP addresses, cannot be linked to a person and are therefore kept permanently.
- Ticket e-mails held by the support team are kept for as long as needed to handle your request, and beyond that only where statutory retention obligations apply.
8. Cookies and local storage
On your first visit the page asks whether you agree to the cookie for the support chat. Until you have agreed, no cookie is set and nothing is stored on your device – except your decision itself.
- Session cookie “mpsupport” (30 days): links your conversation to your browser so that the page knows which conversation the next message belongs to, and so you can find it again on your next visit. It is only set once you have agreed and start the chat. Strictly necessary for the chat (Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG).
- Local storage “mp_cookie”: remembers your decision on the cookie prompt so the page does not ask again on every visit.
- Local storage “mp_lang” and the browser's session storage (only after you agreed): the page language you chose and whether the chat window is open.
You can change your decision at any time via “Cookie settings” at the bottom of the support page. If you decline, the cookie is removed and a running conversation including name, e-mail address and tickets is deleted on this page; the chat cannot be used then.
There is no tracking and there are no analytics or advertising cookies. As with any website, the hosting provider processes technically necessary connection data (including IP address and time) in server log files when the page is accessed.
9. Your rights
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability, the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise them, write to support@meshpro.de.
You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of Baden-Württemberg (Germany).
Our general privacy policy applies to everything else.
