Our approach to quality

As a manufacturer of high quality sports grips, we stand for precision, durability and a strong commitment to quality. Over the years, we have worked with different materials and manufacturing methods, testing and refining them. The process we use today is the result of that development and was deliberately chosen because it delivers the best performance in practice.

A key element of our grips and accessories is the specially developed mesh structure. This geometry can only be realized through additive manufacturing. Conventional methods such as milling or injection molding reach their limits here.

Our products are manufactured using an industrial powder based printing process on a nylon PA basis, designed for consistent quality, high material stability and long term durability. After production, all parts are further processed. Blasting and color finishing create a uniform, closed surface with a pleasant feel.

This combination of process, material and finishing makes a noticeable difference in real use.

Why it makes a difference

That is also why it is worth taking a closer look at seemingly similar products on the market. Many imitators rely on simple FDM printing with low cost home printers. This results in visible layer lines, lower material density and significantly reduced mechanical strength.

Another key difference lies in the material itself. We use high quality nylon PA. It is durable, slightly flexible and far less brittle than typical materials used in FDM printing. It is also resistant to sweat and moisture and remains dimensionally stable even under intensive use.

A similar appearance does not mean the same quality. Especially with sports equipment that represents a significant investment, the grip should meet the same standard. After all, it is the direct contact point between the athlete and the firearm and plays a crucial role in how everything feels and how precisely you can perform.

In shooting sports, calmness, repeatability and precision decide success. Many shooters know the feeling: everything runs smoothly in training and the scores look good — but as soon as the word “start” is heard in competition, the body reacts and all the effort from training seems to vanish.

We spoke with experienced coaches and top shooters and compiled five practical tips for 10 m air pistol, helping you shoot calmer, more confidently and more precisely in competition. With a few targeted adjustments to technique, stance and equipment, consistency can be improved significantly. These recommendations are mainly aimed at shooters who want to strengthen the basics and see noticeable progress quickly with simple changes.

1. Stance — stability starts with your feet

A steady shot always begins with a stable stance. Only if you stand securely can you aim calmly. Even small imbalances can affect the sight picture. What matters:

Shoulder-width stance: Feet turned slightly inward, weight evenly distributed.

Legs & hips: knees slightly bent, do not lock, hips stable — prevents the upper body from swaying.

Torso: back straight, shoulders relaxed

Head & eyes: chin slightly down, eyes level with the target, neck relaxed.

💡 Practical tip:
Find your personal comfort zone. The perfect stance is not the same for every shooter. Experiment in training with small adjustments to feet, legs and torso until you find the position in which you aim most calmly and most controlled.

2. The grip — the link between shooter and pistol

The grip is the direct interface between body and pistol. It provides control, repeatability and feel. A perfectly fitting grip keeps hand and finger positions consistent — the foundation for constant hits. Our MESHPRO grips are designed exactly for that:

3. The trigger — the moment of truth

Most misses are not caused by poor aiming, but by an unclean trigger movement. A clean trigger press is characterized by continuous, even pressure, no jerking motion, no lateral pull, a clearly felt break and clean follow-through. Achieving this under competition pressure is the result of feel, control and consistent training — and it can be trained, even at home in dry-fire practice.

💡 Training ideas

Dry-fire: Hold the sight picture and operate the trigger so the front sight does not move (works at home).

Feel the break: Train to recognize the exact moment of the trigger break — only then release the shot. This improves precision and prevents the shot from “pulling.”

Mental training: Link the trigger moment to calm breathing — “breathe, hold, press.”

4. Breathing — calm through rhythm

Breathing has a decisive influence on aim stability. A steady breathing pattern stabilises the body and the sight picture. Particularly effective is the so-called double breath — a breathing technique many top shooters use to stay calm in competition.

Step-by-step: the double breath:

  1. First breath (abdomen): Take a deep abdominal breath while you bring the pistol up over the target. As you exhale, lower the arm to the top edge of the mirror and bring your eye to the front sight.
  2. Second breath (chest): Take a shorter chest breath; the arm moves slightly upward. As you exhale, align the sight picture and calmly enter the hold area.
  3. Release phase: With roughly one third of the air still in your lungs, stop your breathing. The sight picture should be steady. Now squeeze the trigger evenly.
  4. Follow-through & analysis: Keep the trigger finger back; let your eyes follow the front sight. After the shot, take a deep breath and lower the arm. Reflect on the shot, compare your mental analysis with the actual result. Then take several deep breaths and prepare for the next shot.

💡 Practical tip:
Practice the double breath regularly during training — without time pressure. Over time, the sequence will become automatic and noticeably increase your calmness in competition. You can also integrate the 3-7-4 method to enhance control: inhale for 3 seconds, hold for 7 seconds, and exhale for 4 seconds. This deliberate rhythm lowers your pulse and helps you maintain steady focus under pressure.

5. Routine — consistency is no accident

Consistency in competition is not random; it is the result of clear routines. A repeatable sequence gives the body security and the mind calm.

Checklist for your “perfect shot”:

Write your individual sequence down, step by step, as detailed as possible. For example:

  • Is my stance set up correctly?
  • Is the grip positioned correctly in my hand?
  • Is the hip stable?
  • Is the hip stable?
  • Second breath: front sight in the target?
  • Is the pressure point reached?
  • Shot executed — follow-through?
  • Analysis: can I explain the shot pattern?

💡 Practical tip:
Have your routine checked by an experienced coach. Print the final version small on a single small sheet of paper and keep it in your equipment box. If you lose your focus during a competition, a quick glance at the note will help you get back on track.

How is a MESHPRO grip actually made? From the initial digital sketch to industrial 3D printing and careful final assembly, every grip goes through a thoughtfully designed process. Cutting-edge technologies like HP Multi Jet Fusion are used in combination with precise design and skilled craftsmanship. In this article, we’ll show you how raw data turns into a high-quality, functional, and ergonomic grip for pistol or rifle – either custom-made or as a perfectly fitting standard model.

1. 3D Design: Creating the Perfect Grip Model

At MESHPRO, everything starts with digital design – with a distinction made between standard and custom grips.

For all common pistol and rifle models, we offer standard grips in four sizes (XS to L) for both left- and right-handed shooters. These are precisely matched to the specific firearm and designed in our signature mesh structure – no expensive or bulky adapter needed.

When it comes to custom-made grips via our configurator, we take it one step further: instead of modifying a standard grip, we create a fully individualized model. Dozens of measurement points are captured from the shooter’s hand – including finger length and thickness, hand width, and more – and directly integrated into the digital design. Alternatively, we can perform a high-precision scan of an existing grip and use this data to create a custom MESH grip.

Before moving to production, every model is manually refined and checked:

  • Inspection for artifacts
  • Visibility of engravings or labels
  • Validation of measurements and overall size
  • Compliance with competition rules

By the way: While the mesh structure's reduced weight is a real benefit for rifle grips, pistol grips are deliberately made heavier to achieve a similar weight to traditional wooden grips and maintain pistol balance.

2. Production: High-Precision 3D Printing with HP Multi Jet Fusion

At MESHPRO, we use HP’s industrial-grade Multi Jet Fusion (MJF) 3D printing – a technology that delivers highly precise and durable components. Fine nylon powder (PA12) is applied layer by layer, and a special fusing agent marks the desired areas, which are then selectively fused by heat. This process produces detailed, robust grips in a short time – ideal for competitive shooting.

Each print begins with a “print job” – a file that arranges multiple grip models within the printer's build chamber to maximize space efficiency. The printing process takes about 12 hours. Afterwards, the parts must cool down inside the printer for 48 hours to prevent internal stress. Only then can the so-called print cake (the powder-filled build volume) be opened. Like a miniature excavation site, the grips are carefully uncovered using suction and brushes.

Next, the grips are blasted to remove remaining powder from pores and fine details. They are then dyed to achieve the characteristic MESHPRO black. Without this step, the parts would remain light gray and prone to discoloration. Important to note: Only black dye offers consistent coverage – which is why MESHPRO grips are exclusively available in black.

Finally, a meticulous quality control is carried out. Each grip is individually inspected – only flawless parts move on to final assembly. The rest are consistently rejected.

3. Final Assembly: The Finishing Touch

Once produced, the grips are assembled – transforming a precision part into a fully functional MESHPRO grip. Depending on the grip and weapon type, different assembly steps are required. For both pistol and rifle grips, components such as screws, bushings, and brackets are used to ensure a secure and stable fit on the weapon. For pistols, the hand edge rest is also mounted at this stage.

We also take packaging seriously: all grips are safely packed for shipping. For custom pistol grips, we use special HEXpand packaging that flexibly adapts to the shape of the grip and ensures safe delivery.

Die Deutsche Meisterschaft im Sportschießen, ausgerichtet vom Deutschen Schützenbund (DSB), zählt zu den bedeutendsten Veranstaltungen im deutschen Sportkalender. Jedes Jahr kommen über 6.000 Athletinnen und Athleten aus ganz Deutschland zusammen, um sich auf der Olympia-Schießanlage in Hochbrück in verschiedenen Disziplinen zu messen. Dabei bietet die Meisterschaft nicht nur eine Bühne für Spitzenleistungen, sondern auch die Gelegenheit für den Austausch innerhalb der Schießsport-Community.

Als Aussteller war in diesem Jahr auch MESHPRO mit einem Stand vertreten. A special marketing coup was the oversized MESHPRO grip in a 5:1 scale, which the MESHPRO team created specifically for the event. To give the grip a name, a survey for name suggestions was initially conducted, followed by a vote on the submitted proposals. The name "Jack the Gripper" emerged as the winner, narrowly beating "Gripposaurus-Rex." During the German Championship, "Jack the Gripper" followed the MESHPRO team everywhere on the event grounds – and even to the beer garden after hours. "Jack" slowly but surely became a social media sensation, with numerous visitors and shooters taking the chance to snap a selfie.

The Bavarian Championships, organized by the Bavarian Shooting Association (BSSB) in Munich, are an annual highlight for shooting sports enthusiasts from all over Bavaria. Year after year, thousands of competitors compete in various disciplines to shoot for the title of Bavarian Champion and qualify for the German Championships. The event takes place at the traditional Olympic shooting range in Hochbrück, which has been a center of German shooting sports since the 1972 Olympic Games and also hosts World Cups and the German Championships.

Exhibitors present new and well-known products

In 2024, the Bavarian Championships once again brought together the elite of shooting sports in Bavaria. Over four weekends in June and July, the best shooters in the state competed against each other in the Olympic disciplines. In addition to the thrilling competitions, a comprehensive exhibition of manufacturers and dealers for sporting weapons and equipment attracted thousands of visitors. Almost all the well-known manufacturers took the opportunity to present their products - from tried and tested classics to the latest innovations.

MESHPRO stand attracts attention

We were also there as an exhibitor for the first time ever this year and were able to present MESHPRO at our new stand. In addition to the standard grips for rifles and pistols, the new grip configurator attracted particular attention. This makes it possible to create your own individual pistol grip step by step according to your own ideas. Many shooters took the opportunity to have their hand recognized directly on site using image analysis and AI in order to have us create a suitable grip with further individual adjustments (all information on the grip configurator here). In just a few steps, you can create a customized shooting grip that is ergonomic, comfortable, and unique. To show you how easy it is to create your individual grip, we’ll guide you through the process step by step with the MESHPRO Grip Configurator.

Step 1 – Select Your Pistol Model

First, choose the model of your air or sport pistol. The MESHPRO Grip Configurator supports many common models and ensures the grip fits your weapon precisely — no adapter required.

Step 2 – Choose Your Size

Choose the right grip size: you can pick one of our standard sizes — XS, S, M, or L — or use the built‑in AI hand scan to get a precise recommendation based on your hand photo. Step 4 – Ordering and Delivery

Once you’re satisfied with your design, you can order your grip directly through the configurator. After completing your order, production of your custom MESHPRO grip begins using 3D printing technology. Typically, you’ll receive your individually crafted grip within six to eight weeks, delivered conveniently to your home — precise, ergonomic, and as unique as your hand.
